The Reputation of MLM

the Reputation of MLMs--Is It Changing?

Network Marketing's reputation has been tainted by media reports and tales from those who have failed. Ninety-five percent of those who attempt MLMs fail--a statistic that is not disputed even by leaders in network promotion. The media has used these numbers to further their notion that MLMs are scams.

The recruiting methods are less than honest and are designed to line the pocketbooks of a few who "make it." This stems from the fact that MLMs use uplines and downlines. In most MLMs, you make funds off the sales of people you recruit as well as the product/service that you offer. However, whoever "makes it" does not do so through dishonest methods. Those who know more people might possibly be able to grow their businesses sooner than somebody who doesn't.

Here is some of the criticism and counter:

MLMs are disguised pyramid schemes. Legitimate MLMs sell a product or service. Pyramid schemes are about developing levels where funds is exchanged without a product or service offered. The government is speedy to inquire in to and shutdown pyramid schemes.

MLMs take advantage of poor individuals who think they can get rich speedy. The truth is no one should look at an MLM as a "get rich" technique or think it will work without a lot of effort and time. Most MLMs emphasize the strong work effort needed to make the business work.

But increasingly people are reaping the benefits of successful MLMs. Here are some reasons why:

The 95 percent of the individuals who don't make it in an MLM also contribute to the theory that MLMs are "bad" and don't work.

However, somebody who has ever been involved in network promotion knows that the traditional training methods don't work and the provided materials should be avoided in first approach sales. Now, Attraction promotion can now be applied to Network promotion as any other business. By applying the principles of Attraction promotion, Network Marketers are now in a position to reap the rewards of prospects actually seeking them out in lieu of the other way around.

they take advantage of the current web training and resources obtainable to them. MLMs provide what they think (or expect you to believe) to be all training materials and promotion information.

Finally, when people listen to the words MLM, multi-level promotion or network promotion, they don't realize that some of the most successful companies in the world are MLMs.

they work hard. that is the bottom line. With an MLM, as with any business, you require to work hard. you require to do the same as with a traditional business--market, fill orders, give excellent customer support and be creative.

Avon, indulged Chef and Mary Kay are MLMs. plenty of people don't get rich (though some do), but plenty of do make a successful living. As increasingly people lose their jobs in this economy and look for other career choices, MLMs are rising in popularity. And as people learn more about MLMs and how to make use of attraction promotion and the web to make them successful, the reputation of MLM is changing.
